Existing Site Studies
The Friedman Memorial Airport currently has a variety of operational, design and reliability concerns that have been studied numerous times throughout the years. Studies are continually being developed as the Friedman Memorial Airport Authorirty continutes to try and find a solution that will bring the Airport into compliance with FAA design standards. Until recently, the planned solution was to relocate the airport to a new site south of the existing airport and away from the valley cities. The FAA was conducting an EIS study for a new location until the decision was made to suspend the study. Now, the FAA is evaluating options for moving forward and has determined a need for additional data pertaining to the existing site.
